Hiking Trails at Kings Canyon

Homes for sale within the Westside of Carson City Nevada is a fantastic and historical street called King Street. This road not only leads to some beautiful recreational hiking trails but following this road due East eventually leads to the State Capitol.   It is considered by many to be historical just for being around for so long. King Street is one of the oldest established roads in the county and the fact it leads to the capitol and has taken people, lumber, cars, and horses at one time into the mountain ranges of Carson City’s westerly bordering hilly mountain range. In 2004 this area was ravished by fire. Several homes were destroyed and thousands of trees and wildlife were affected. This fire was later determined to be caused by reckless illegal camping and fires in this area. KingsCanyon and hiking trail now lead to the locals best kept secret, the KingsCanyonFalls, part of HumboldtToiyabeNational Forest.   There is a small make-shift parking lot of dirt that shows the obvious beginning of this hidden treasure. The falls are really much less than what once was. Drought has brought the smalls falls into more a slow drizzle. It’s little known that indeed this mountain range will also lead further into the wilderness. For those serious hikers and adventure seekers access to the Tahoe Rim trail can be gained from the KingsCanyonFalls trail.   In addition keeping close attention to hiking distance, it’s possible to reach Lake Tahoe. This tiresome hike is gorgeous and main highway 50, Spooner Summit road can be used as a connector for parties who are looking for one way hiking and then driving back a pre-designated return vehicle.   Views from this hiking area are unbelievable. The entire Carson City valley is stunning backdrop when you take the time to look back from the hiking direction. In addition,  there are other ways to hike from the beginning point on King Street. By heading Northwesterly, there is logging road which leads to a high mountain wherein WashoeLake can be seen. The gorgeous blue waters of WashoeLake are far into the distance and unless your’re prepared for the extremely long walk to reach it, it remains a beautiful view from areas of these mountains rarely seen by most people.  The history of these areas began long before this was our recreational hiking areas. Logging and mining roads and settlers first used these roads as their lifelines to moving goods and for the development of the first towns in the area.  Looking for a home or vacation home near this fantastic neighborhood renown among the locals as one of the best, call your Carson City real estate professionals, we look forward to showing you all the hidden treasures of homes.
